Ethernet

Ethernet is a relation of frame-based computer networking technologies for local area networks (LANs). The name comes from the physical idea of the ether. It defines a number of cabling and signaling standards for the Physical Layer of the OSI networking model, through means of network right of entry at the Media Access Control (MAC)/Data Link Layer, and a ordinary addressing format.

Ethernet is standardized as IEEE 802.3. The combination of the warped pair versions of Ethernet for connecting end systems to the network, the length of with the fiber optic versions for site backbones, is the most widespread wired LAN technology. It has been in use as of around 1980[1] to the present, mainly replacing competing LAN standards such as token ring, FDDI, and ARCNET.

Rain Shadow Deserts

Moisture for storms comes from large bodies of water, primarily oceans, and are pushed over the continents by massive global air currents. When this moist air comes over a continent and hits a mountain it is forced up the range where it cools, condenses and often falls as rain. Mountains often receive much more precipitation than the areas around them. As this air pushes over the top of the mountain and down the other side it can again expand, although it has now lost much of its moisture. This "Rain Shadow" effect can be so strong that the area behind a mountain is a desert. In fact, all the deserts of North America are influenced by this "Rain Shadow" effect.

Miners Falls

Located about five miles north of Alger County Road H-58 off Miners Castle Road. The hike from the parking area to the waterfall is 1.2 miles round-trip.

A gravel path through the northwoods leads to two overlooks. Enjoy the Miners Falls Nature Trail and views of the Miners Basin along the way. The Miners River drops about 50 feet over a sandstone outcrop, creating this gorgeous waterfall.

There are 77 steps down to the lower viewing platform at the falls. This is an especially beautiful trail in the springtime with abundant wildflowers.

Pets are not permitted on the trail to Miners Falls, but are allowed in the parking lot and picnic area.
